The Vice President will deliver a message of hope for America's future in stark contrast to January 6, 2021, when Donald Trump stood in the same spot and commanded his armed MAGA base to do everything they could to prevent the certification of the 2020 election.
In the hours leading up to the speech, VP Harris will do several final campaign interviews before heading to Washington.
As the Vice President continues to reach out to the Black and Latino communities, she's gaining more support from celebrities of color. Aside from an instant endorsement from Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny on Sunday, the VP is getting a boost from BET with a special hosted by actor and comedian D.L. Hughley, who's been a very vocal critic of her opponent.
The BET Black Men's Summit will air about an hour after the VP's speech ends and will focus on crucial issues impacting Black men ahead of the 2024 presidential election, including economic challenges, reproductive rights, and political engagement. The Vice President has also been focused on this messaging in the final weeks of her campaign with her multiple appearances on Black media.
Hughley will be joined by Congressional Black Caucus and Nevada Representative Steven Horsford, Tennessee State Representative Justin J. Pearson, actor Michael Ealy, and many other prominent voices. The summit will air on BET+, BET.com, BET Facebook page, and BET Network's YouTube Channel.
The VP's speech will air live at 7:15 pm PST/4:15 pm EST.
