WATCH: SNL Cold Open Skewers Baier/Harris Fox News Interview

Saturday Night Live has always excelled at political satire during its 50-year history, from Chevy Chase's pratfalls as Gerald Ford to Tina Fey's note-perfect impression of Sarah Palin to Alec Baldwin's legendary portrayal of Donald Trump.

Usually reserved for the show's cold open, the political sketches take the nation's temperature and then turn up the heat to magnify the fallacies from both parties. This election cycle has provided the SNL writers with the kind of material that barely needs to be embellished solely based on Trump's increasingly unhinged behavior and non-sensical rants. Weekend Update is updated right before showtime to stay as current as possible.

Baldwin (who's coming out of a brutal few years), had already passed the Trump torch to cast regular James Austin Johnson, but he surprised everyone by showing up as Fox News anchor Bret Baier, who's been taking a lot of heat for his interview with Vice President Kamala Harris where he talked over her nearly the entire time. Former cast member Maya Rudolph is back by popular demand with her extended cameos of Kamala Harris.

"Good evening, I'm Brett Baier — and to clear the air, yes, I do look like someone made a businessman in Minecraft," Baldwin's Baier begins.

"The pleasure is neither of ours," Rudolph's Harris replies.

Rudolph has honed her impression to get the Vice President's mannerisms down, which the real VP loves.

They also had time to ridicule Donald Trump's bizarre Oaks, PA, rally, where he swayed to a weird playlist of his favorite songs for nearly 40 minutes.
