For the second day in a row, the city of Springfield, Ohio, has been targeted with bomb threats, presumably from Trump supporters who believe the false and repeatedly debunked rumors being spread about Haitian residents eating pets and other animals.
Students at Perrin Woods and Snowhill Elementary Schools in Springfield were evacuated from their buildings to an alternate district location after receiving anonymous bomb threats, according to a school spokesperson.
Another school, Roosevelt Middle School, had already been closed before the beginning of the school day after the Springfield Police Department received similar bomb threats.
In addition to those school evacuations, several city commissioners and a municipal employee were the target of an emailed bomb threat, leading to the evacuation of City Hall.
The blame is directly on the padded suit shoulders of Donald Trump and JD Vance, both of whom continue to perpetuate the racist rumor along with their campaign staff.
Vance has also said there's been a “massive rise in communicable diseases” in Springfield, but Clark County Combined Health District Commissioner Chris Cook said Friday that's not accurate.
At another fully unhinged press conference in California on Friday, Trump doubled down on the lie and threatened "mass deportations" of the Haitian residents of Springfield who are there legally.
The White House has denounced Trump and Vance for perpetuating the rumor and endangering all of the residents of Springfield, not just the Haitians--who, again, are here legally.
The rumors of Haitian immigrants eating pets began as a lie from a White Nationalist Trump supporter and was fueled by neo-Nazi groups.
