One of MAGA's weirdest criticisms of Vice President Kamala Harris is that she hasn't held enough press conferences or given enough interviews during her presidential campaign.
The Vice President has actually given several solo interviews since her first sit-down with her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, on CNN last month, with the most recent on Tuesday in Wisconsin. Speaking with radio station WPR, Vice President Harris declared her support for ending the Senate filibuster, among other topics.
This wasn't good enough for MAGA, however, because it was "just radio." They kept demanding a one-on-one sitdown. And they got it Wednesday night when the Vice President gave an exclusive to MSNBC's Stephanie Ruhle.
While Ruhle locked in on the economy and challenged the Vice President on her plans and policies, there were also lighter moments during their discussion, particularly when Ruhle asked VP Harris about her gig at McDonald's.
"Have you, in fact, served two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, and onions on a sesame seed bun?" Ruhle asked cheekily.
“Part of the reason I even talk about working at McDonald’s is that there are people who work at McDonald’s in our country, there who are trying to raise a family. I worked there as a student. I was a kid who worked there.” Vice President Harris added that some families are “trying to raise families and pay rent” based on that income. “I think part of the difference between me and my opponent includes our perspective on the needs of the American people and what our responsibility is to meet those needs.”
The conversation also included truthful assessments about Trump and his unhinged rants at his rallies.
The mostly white male MAGA base just could not allow these two women to enjoy having a non-combative conversation.
