WATCH: Kamala Harris Sits Down For First Solo Interview With Local Reporter

After all of the hype surrounding the CNN interview where Gov. Tim Walz joined her, Vice President Kamala Harris quietly sat for her first solo interview as the Democratic presidential nominee while campaigning in Pennsylvania.

VP Harris gave the exclusive not to a nationally recognized journalist or cable news anchor, but to a local reporter from Philadelphia's ABC affiliate.

Brian Taff from Action News was given ten minutes with the Vice President in a conversation that touched on all of the issues that are most important to the Harris/Walz campaign: economy, gun control, and reaching undecided voters.

The Vice President shared her plans--and not just concepts of a plan--for bringing down prices for Americans and making life more affordable – starting with helping small businesses and first-time homebuyers.

“When I talk about building an opportunity economy, it is very much with the mind of investing in the ambitions and aspirations and the incredible work ethic of the American people, and creating opportunity for people, for example, to start a small business,” the Vice President said.

When asked where she draws the line in America on gun ownership and gun use, Harris insisted that she is not taking anyone’s guns away, but that there should be a ban on assault weapons and universal background checks.

“I am a gun owner and Tim Walz, my running mate, is also a gun owner. We’re not taking anyone’s guns away. I support the Second Amendment and I support reasonable gun safety laws,” VP Harris said.
