Vice President Kamala Harris doesn't have "concepts of a plan," she has real plans to help Americans who have been struggling financially.
And during another visit to Pennsylvania on Friday, the Vice President outlined several of them, all aimed to ease the financial burden on the middle class while also helping them secure new jobs and homes.
Aside from promising a $25,000 tax break for first-time homebuyers, Vice President Harris has a plan to help Americans without college degrees land certain federal jobs that would give them the kind of financial security that might otherwise elude them.
A degree does not necessarily indicate a person's skills, VP Harris said. "As President, I will get rid of the unnecessary degree requirements for federal jobs to increase jobs for folks without a four-year degree," she told a packed crowd in Wilkes-Barre. "I will challenge the private sector to do the same."
“For far too long, our nation has encouraged only one path to success: a four-year college degree,” Vice President Harris continued. “Our nation needs to recognize the value of other paths, additional paths, such as apprenticeships and technical programs.”
The Vice President also repeated her promise to expand the child tax credit to provide $6,000 to families in the first year of a child’s life--something her opponent demonstrated he doesn't understand.
“Look, I come from the middle class. I understand where I come from, and I’m never going to forget that, and I will always put middle-class, working people first,” VP Harris said.
