JD Vance spent his Sunday morning digging even deeper into the lies about Haitian immigrants being spread by his campaign all over the corporate media.
Thankfully, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg used his appearance on "Meet the Press" to denounce both Vance and Donald Trump for endangering the lives of Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, who are legal residents now under attack.
Secretary Pete chided anchor Kristen Welker for indulging the conspiracy theories pushed by Trump's newest advisor, 9/11 denialist Laura Loomer.
“We’re not having a serious policy debate about immigration or any other issue, if you got JD Vance on your program, basically debating exactly how racist it is to talk about the things that Laura Loomer is talking about,” Buttigieg told Welker.
“This is the kind of sideshow that they want to take the main stage so that they don’t have to talk about anything serious," Secretary Pete continued. "And it’s a reminder of just how exhausting it was to deal with all this the first time Donald Trump was president. America would be in for another four years of this exhausting chaos every time we check the news if they come back into power."
Secretary Pete also spoke to CNN's Kaitlan Collins on Thursday about the rumor that won't go away no matter how much the media reminds the public that it's been debunked.
“This is a strategy to get us talking about the latest crazy thing that he did,” Buttigieg said. “The last thing he wants us to do is to talk about his record or his agenda. So what he wants us talking about is whatever crazy nonsense he can thrust into the center of the internet and the media conversation, which this week happens to be this stuff about eating cats or dogs or geese or whatever.”
