Ohio Senator JD "Adolf Sitler" Vance admitted live on CNN Sunday morning that he and his running mate Donald Trump need to "make up stories" about migrants eating cats and dogs "just to get the American media to notice the suffering of the American people."
The rumor that Haitian migrants are stealing pets from homes and then eating them has been repeatedly debunked by Springfield police and its city manager, yet Trump and Vanced have continued to push the lie to their MAGA cult base, which instantly accepted the rumor as fact.
Erika Lee, the Ohio woman who claims to have unintentionally started the rumor on Facebook, told NBC News on Friday that she recently posted on Facebook about a neighbor’s cat that went missing, adding that the neighbor told Lee she thought the cat was the "victim of an attack by her Haitian neighbors" without any proof. The neighbor has also admitted she only heard the rumor as well.
In the instantly viral clip from "State of the Union," Vance spars with anchor Dana Bash, who's been widely criticized for her lack of fact-checking during Trump's debate with President Joe Biden, as well as for the interview she conducted with Vice President Kamala Harris and Gov. Tim Walz.
But in this case, Bash brought the facts and let Vance hang himself with the truth about his lies.
Bomb threats have been called into Springfield schools and civic offices thanks to Trump and Vance pushing the false rumor.
Vance continues to think all of this is hilarious, sparring with journalists on Twitter because no one in TrumpWorld can ever admit they were wrong.
