The day after the Debate That Ultimately Doesn't Matter, the New York Times Editorial Board called for President Joe Biden to drop out of the race.
They backhanded Joe Biden by saying he's been “an admirable President,” and then they called his continued campaign “a reckless gamble.” They wrote that “It’s too big a bet to simply hope Americans will overlook or discount Mr. Biden’s age and infirmity that they see with their own eyes.”
Two days ago, they ran an op-ed by George "Very Rich White Man Who Lives Overseas" Clooney, calling for the same thing.
Yes, the same George Clooney who helped Joe raise a record $30 million in one night. Turns out, Lake Como Clooney's wife's uncle is a bad, bad man. Somehow Clooney got the idea that Joe Biden's favor could be bought, and he certainly found out that you can't buy Biden, Jack. So he used his privileged platform to write biased bs about Biden.
In the weeks between those two garbage takes, voter support for Joe Biden has only increased, but the MSM isn't reporting on that. At the same time, the Grey Lady saw a record number of subscriptions being canceled.
Awareness around Project 2025 and the new Epstein files release is also increasing. Convicted felon adjudicated rapist Donald Trump is still facing sentencing in September while delivering increasingly unhinged speeches at his rallies--when he's not entertaining another dictator at his secure documents facility in Florida.
And Joe Biden had a hell of a press conference yesterday where he had a couple of his usual Joe-ism gaffes, but ultimately showed off his mastery of foreign policy. If asked any of the same questions, Trump would most likely go off the rails and deep into a monologue about Hannibal Lecter.
Yesterday, July 11, was the day Trump was meant to be sentenced. It was also the day the New York Times ran another op-ed saying that Trump is unfit to serve:
“Mr. Trump has shown a character unworthy of the responsibilities of the presidency. He has demonstrated an utter lack of respect for the Constitution, the rule of law, and the American people. Instead of a cogent vision for the country’s future, Mr. Trump is animated by a thirst for political power: to use the levers of government to advance his interests, satisfy his impulses and exact retribution against those who he thinks have wronged him. He is, quite simply, unfit to lead.”
It's possible that tomorrow they'll write one about water being wet and life-sustaining.
So, what is it you want, NYT? I mean, besides to lure your former subscribers back by backpedaling?
I understand it's not the media's job to be "cheerleaders" for politicians, as they're currently saying as an excuse for writing about Biden's age but not Trump's crimes.
But it IS their job to tell the truth about them. They need to report on Trump's crimes and Biden's accomplishments. They need to focus on threats to our democracy proposed by Project 2025.
And they should also be mindful that should Trump get back into the White House, he'll end the American media along with the American Experiment.
Just report the news as it happens, not the news you want to be happening. THAT is your job.
