Willie Geist: Trump's Hurricane Helene Lie is 'Particularly Dosgusting' [VIDEO]

During Tuesday's episode of Morning Joe, hosts Jonathan Lemire and Willie Geist blasted Donald Trump's recent lie about the government's Hurricane Helene response. 

Trump knows that if he tells a lie, no matter how extreme, his supporters who only watch Conservative media are unlikely to ever hear the truth. The former President thought he could score some cheap points on Monday by claiming that Joe Biden is not responding to the needs of states hit by the recent hurricane. 

The former President was caught in a lie yesterday when he said that Brian Kemp was having trouble getting a hold of the federal government. Earlier in the day, the Georgia Governor had a phone call with Joe Biden where he was told he'd have everything he needed. 

Geist said of the story, "You know, Jonathan Lemire, this is particularly disgusting lie. When people there need help, suggesting that the White House and FEMA, because Democrats don't want Donald Trump to win, of course it all comes back to him, they're turning their backs on him."

Lemire then jumped in: 

"Rooting against the country is one of the themes from Donald Trump. This is a particularly dangerous lie. If he is out there saying, 'Hey, the federal government is ignoring those impacted by the storm,' that may discourage those impacted by the storm from even seeking help. State and federal officials are saying, 'Look, we're here. reach out to us. we're trying to reach you and assist you in this time of need.' Donald Trump only thinking about himself."
