WATCH: Why People Are Leaving Trump's Rallies Early (If They Can Leave, That Is)

One sure way to trigger Donald Trump is to point out the size of his shrinking crowds and how they leave his rallies early out of sheer boredom.

That is, if they can get back to their cars.

It definitely worked for Vice President Kamala Harris, who did exactly that at their one debate on September 10th, throwing Trump off whatever game he might have had for the rest of the night.

“I’m going to actually do something really unusual and I’m going to invite you to attend one of Donald Trump’s rallies because it’s a really interesting thing to watch,” Vice President Harris said during the debate. “You will see during the course of his rallies he talks about fictional characters like Hannibal Lecter. He will talk about 'windmills cause cancer'. And what you will also notice is that people start leaving his rallies early out of exhaustion and boredom.”

The Guardian's George Chidi attended Trump's rally in Marietta, Georgia, on Tuesday to see for himself if the Vice President's accusations were true.

Noting that Trump kept the crowd waiting for an hour and a half, Chidi writes that a sold 30% of the audience left before the speech was over a little after ten. Chidi asked a few of them why they were leaving, and most noted the late start time and the fact that they had to get home as a reason.

One woman who left early blamed it on her 15-year-old. “I live an hour away, and my son is waiting in the car,” she said. “He didn’t want to come in. He’s a teenager.”
