WATCH: Van Jones Jokes That Maybe Melania Will Stump For Kamala Harris Next Week

During a Thursday morning segment on CNN, Van Jones reacted to Melania Trump's surprising reveal on abortion rights by joking that she may join the Harris campaign.

Donald and Melania Trump have never had a typical marriage, and she did not seem comfortable acting as the First Lady. Still, she regularly had her husband's back, defending him even when he said something awful.

So it was pretty surprising to see her support abortion rights, with no government intervention, so close to the November election.

Speaking with John Berman and Sara Sidner, Jones opined, "But this is bizarre. I don’t think you’ve ever seen in the history of American politics a former first lady or the spouse of a candidate come out with a book and a video saying, I don’t agree with my husband’s party on a key issue. It’s never happened before, ever."

The former Obama staffer then joked, "Beyonce music could have been in the background talking about Freedom. I don’t. But hey, listen, you got Cheney coming out today. Maybe Melania comes out tomorrow with Kamala Harris! It can happen!"

Jones closed his remarks:

"Hey listen. She– she’s coming out of the shadows! She’s coming out of shadows. She’s coming into the light! She is– she’ll be with–.his time next week she will be on that same stage with Kamala Harris singing Freedom! That’s where we’re headed. I’m. I’m. That’s my prediction."
