WATCH: Trump Uses NC Storm Damage Photo Op to Spread Debunked FEMA Lies

Donald Trump is "too exhausted" to do any more interviews before Election Day, but not so wiped out that he can't stage multiple photo ops in battleground states.

After not actually working at all at an empty McDonald's on Sunday, Trump traveled to North Carolina, which is still digging out from the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. Trump used the opportunity to show off his McDonald's "fry cook" pin and spread more lies about FEMA's response to hurricane victims in need of aid.

Trump was asked if he thought it was "helpful" to continue to spread lies about FEMA, which has put relief workers in danger as some of Trump's MAGA loyalists have threatened them for simply doing their jobs.

Instead of walking back the now-disproven rumors, Trump doubled down on his threats and repeated the lie that the aid response was hampered because FEMA spent its budget helping people who crossed the border illegally. That claim was debunked weeks ago by Rep. Chuck Edwards (R-NC) who stood behind Trump as he lied.

“The power of nature, nothing you can do about it. But you got to get a little bit better crew in to do a better job than has been done by the White House, because it’s not good, not good,” Trump said unhelpfully.

Western North Carolina was especially hit hard by Hurricane Helene, and the counties affected by Hurricane Helene were forced to move Election Day precincts or change early voting sites. Thousands of voters remain displaced or without power or water as early voting has already begun in the must-win state.
