Donald Trump has had it in for Liz Cheney ever since the former GOP Congresswoman twice voted to impeach him. His loathing for Cheney grew deeper when she was Vice Co-Chair of the bipartisan January 6th House Select Committee, and now that she and both of her parents have endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump might hate Liz Cheney more than he does his opponent.
Aside from bullying Cheney on Truth Social and at his rallies, Trump has now put even more of a target on her thanks to threats he made during a conversation with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Thursday night in Arizona.
Carlson, one of the few remaining right-wing media personalities who'll still enable Trump, prompted the remarks after asking Trump about Cheney's alliance with Vice President Harris and their joint efforts to warn the public about a potential second term.
He suggested that if it were up to Cheney, the U.S. would be involved in conflicts across multiple countries. "If it were up to her, we'd be in 50 different countries," Trump claimed. "She's a radical war hawk. Let's put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her, OK? She's a deranged person."
The reaction to Trump's remarks was immediate. Cheney wasn't having any of his threats, as empty as they may be.
There were multiple calls for Trump's and Carlson's arrests after making such a public and violent threat, especially when his MAGA base seems to be gearing up for another January 6th.
