Once upon a time, Rudy Giuliani enjoyed immense popularity as "America's Mayor" in the post-9/11 landscape of the nation
But now as "Trump's Lackey," Giuliani has been ordered to surrender all his assets, including his Manhattan apartment, to Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss as part of the $148 million defamation judgment they won against him.
The mother and daughter were harassed into leaving their homes by MAGA after Trump lost the 2020 election and went into hiding thanks to Giuliani's lies about them helping Joe Biden "steal" Georgia.
Giuliani must vacant his New York apartment, estimated at more than $5 million, within the week. He was also ordered to turn over sports memorabilia (including World Series rings and a jersey autographed by Joe DiMaggio) two dozen luxury watches, and a 1980 Mercedes once owned by movie star Lauren Bacall, estimated to be worth $25,000.
For now, Giuliani can hold on to a condo he owns in Palm Beach, Florida, which Moss and Shaye had also asked for, but is tied to separate litigations over his assets. The two women currently have a lien on that property.
Giuliani had asked U.S. District Judge Lewis Liman to bar Freeman and Moss from selling any of his assets until after his appeal of the judgment was completed. Judge Liman rejected that request, saying Giuliani could have asked the federal court in Washington, D.C., where Freeman and Moss won their case, to stay any asset sales pending his appeal, but he did not.
