WATCH: Rachel Maddow Says Trump Will Regret Picking J.D. Vance if He Runs Against Kamala Harris

Now that he won't be facing Joe Biden in November, Rachel Maddow says that Donald Trump will regret picking J.D. Vance as his running mate.

Over the last month or so, Donald Trump has felt that he was a shoe-in for the presidency if he was running against Joe Biden. And it was in that state of mind that the former President decided that his running mate should be J.D. Vance. It wasn't clear what Vance might offer Trump as his home state of Ohio is decidedly red.

Joe Biden will not be facing off against Trump as he dropped out of the race on Sunday. It is yet unclear who he will face, but the current favorite is Kamala Harris. Rachel Maddow talked tonight about how Trump may have done something differently if he had a different opponent.

The MSNBC host began boldly by saying, "J.D. Vance and Donald Trump are going to lose in November and Donald Trump is going to regret picking J.D. Vance as his running mate."

Maddow opined, "You do not need any type of Democrat in particular to prosecute a case against J.D. Vance. He is a real weirdo from a really, really narrow slice of the far right side of the ideological doctrine."

The host continued, "They picked him because they didn't think he would have to be defending himself at all. Because he thought he didn't need to compete very hard to win, he picked J.D. Vance. He picked someone who's not going to help him at all.”
