WATCH: Matt Gaetz Mocks Kevin McCarthy on the Republican National Convention Floor

On Tuesday, Matt Gaetz mocked fellow Republican Congressman Kevin McCarthy on the RNC floor as the former Speaker of the House spoke to reporters.

McCarthy wasn't the House Speaker very long and that was due in large measure to Gaetz's efforts to oust him. Despite his victory against the California Rep., the Florida Rep. has continued the feud whenever possible.

While McCarthy was talking with reporters, Gaetz noted that he wouldn't be speaking at the event, a sign of his dwindling power within the party. "What night are you speaking," Gaetz asked, "are you speaking tonight?" The Florida Rep. then mocked, "If you took that stage you would get booed off of it."

McCarthy didn't respond immediately but had said of Gaetz earlier this year, "Gaetz is the Hunter Biden of the Republican Party. He’s got an opponent who is pro-life, pro-Second Amendment, trained at Pensacola, went to the Naval Academy and flew jets to defend us while Gaetz was getting kicked out of high school, buying coke and paying minors for sex."

News Nation reporter Joe Khalil would write of the incident, "Shortly after this moment, we interviewed former Speaker McCarthy who repeated what we’ve heard from him before- Gaetz is upset with him because he wouldn’t end the ethics investigation into allegations Gaetz paid for sex with a minor."
