During a speech in Michigan over the weekend, star musician made the case for Kamala Harris and tore into Donald Trump.
The Harris campaign has had the support of many powerful female artists like Beyonce, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry and Lizzo hit the trail with the Vice President on Saturday.
The musician was born in Detroit and lived there until the age of 10. Michigan and Pennsylvania have emerged as the two most important states in their year's election.
Donald Trump gave the Harris campaign a boost last week when he insulted the city of Detroit, saying, "Our whole country will end up being like Detroit if she’s your president. You’re going to have a mess on your hands."
Lizzo was in Detroit to talk about Trump and rally for Harris and she didn't take long to address the former President's comments, saying:
I’m so proud to be from this city. You know, they say if Kamala Harris wins, then the whole country will be like Detroit, okay? Proud like Detroit. Resilient like Detroit. We’re talking about the same Detorit that innovated the auto industry and the music industry, so put some respect on Detroit’s name, okay!?
