WATCH: Katie Phang Explains Why 'Something Stinks' About Aileen Cannon Ruling

During a weekend appearance on Michael Steele's MSNBC show, Katie Phang tore into federal judge Aileen Cannon for her attempts to protect Donald Trump.

Cannon was placed on the bench by Trump shortly before he left office. Once she got her hands on Trump's federal documents case, she has done everything she can to shut the case down, which she finally did this week,

The move from Cannon will most certainly be appealed and there is a good chance it can be taken to a different area of the country. But the case has been delayed and Trump may be able to shut it down completely if he is elected in November.

Phang, a former state's attorney, asked, "Why not dispose of that issue in February? We hear the oral argument including friends of the court which never happens. This is at the end of June, the beginning of July and then she sits on a 93-page opinion for that long?"

The MSNBC host continued, "But the reality is once Clarence Thomas gave her the green light to file her dismissal, that is when she did it," she added. "And for her to drop that on the first day of the RNC stinks. Something is rotten in Denmark, and I'm going to say it is Aileen Cannon."

Michael Steele got the last word, saying, "I am with you on that one because the timing and the process, the level of, you know, coordination is the only word that comes to mind.
