WATCH: Kamala Harris Widens Lead Over Trump Ahead of Economic Speech

A new Reuters/Ipsos poll published on Tuesday found that Vice President Kamala Harris has increased her lead over Donald Trump after demonstrating a clearer vision for the economy during their debate on September 10th.

In the poll conducted September 11th - 12th, Vice President Harris now leads Trump 47% - 40%, an increase of six points from the previous Reuters/Ipsos poll.

Other polls still show the two nominees essentially tied in the battleground states whose Electoral College votes will decide the presidency. In Pennsylvania, one of the seven critical battleground states, VP Harris maintains a 4-point advantage, leading 50% to 46% with a margin of error of plus or minus 3.8 percentage points.

The polling average maintained by FiveThirtyEight.com shows a close race at the national level, with Vice President Harris leading Trump 48.3% to 45.8%.

Vice President Harris has pledged tax breaks for families with children as well as higher taxes for corporations. She is expected to deliver new economic proposals this week during a campaign speech--a real plan, not "concepts of a plan."

Trump recently vowed to levy a "200% tariff" on agricultural manufacturing company John Deere along with his continued promises for tax cuts to benefit the rich while saddling the average American family with upwards of $4,000 a year in additional taxes.

Early voting has already begun in Pennsylvania, Virginia, South Dakota, and Minnesota, with record turnouts resulting in long lines.

Another boost for Vice President Harris is coming from her incredibly popular running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, who's leading Trump's historically unpopular VP pick, JD Vance, by a whopping 40 points.
