President Joe Biden joined the panel on "The View" Wednesday morning, the first sitting President to ever join the live broadcast.
The President spoke at length about his remaining few months in office, saying he's "at peace" with his decision to step down as the Democratic presidential nominee even though he still feels certain he would've beaten Donald Trump.
In his first interview since his speech at the Democratic National Convention last month, President Biden gently reminded everyone that he had hinted he might only serve one term when he ran in 2020. "When I ran for my first term, I said I was going to be a transition president," President Biden said. "What happened was we were having so much success in getting things done, and people thought we couldn't get done, I found myself having used more time than I would have ordinarily to pass that torch."
President Biden praised Vice President Kamala Harris and her campaign, reiterating how he's always known how capable and prepared she is to be President. "Working with Kamala, she is tough, she's honorable," President Biden said. "And the thing I like about her, and one thing we share in common, is that we have an optimistic view of the future."
The President also said he still believes he would have beaten Donald Trump in November had he not dropped his reelection bid in mid-July. "I was confident I would beat Trump. He's a loser," he said, to roaring applause from the studio audience.
There was also a fun moment with the President and an audience member during a commercial break, as reported by the White House pool.
