While rallying last night in North Carolina, Kamala Harris mocked Donald Trump for failing to come up with an alternative to Obamacare in the previous nine years.
Donald Trump's disastrous debate performance this week featured rants on people eating cats, arguments over rally sizes and lies about abortion rights. But Trump was also a disaster when he tried to discuss actual policies as well.
One of Trump's worst moments was when he was pressed out his objection to Obamacare. While he claimed that the Affordable Care Act was terrible and needed to be replaced, he also claimed that he only had "the concepts of a plan," despite having nearly a decade to come up with his own plan.
Reflecting on the moment in Charlotte last night, Harris began, "You know, he talks a big talk, but when folks review the numbers, highly respected folks, that's what you learn about him. That's what you learn."
The Vice President continued, "Donald Trump intends to end the Affordable Care Act," she told the audience. "You heard what he said in the debate. He has no plan to replace it. He said 'concepts of a plan.'" After laughter and applause from the audience, she remarked, "Oh! You all watched the debate?"
Harris then closed:
"He has no actual plan, concepts. And understand what's at stake on that: 45 million Americans are insured through the Affordable Care Act. He's going to end it based on a concept and take us back to when insurance companies had the power to deny people with preexisting conditions. Well, we are not going back. We're not going back."
