While speaking with reporters about Donald Trump's shoutout of his wife Brittany, Patrick Mahomes explained that he doesn't want to be involved in politics.
Patrick Mahomes may be a superstar on the football field, but he is reserved and quiet off of it. His family makes that different. His father Pat was arrested for his 3rd DUI a week before the Super Bowl. Brother Jackson has been a constant subject of controversy in his role as a social media influencer.
The Kansas City Cheifs' wife, Brittany, was recently lauded by Donald Trump, who said he preferred her to Taylor Swift. Brittany liked a post from Trump on Instagram and reacted angrily when called out.
When asked about Trump and Brittany, the quarterback responded, "I've always said, I don't want my place and my platform to be used to endorse a candidate or do whatever either way."
Mahomes continued by encouraging people to register and, "to do their own research and then make their best decision for them and their family."
The Chief closed:
"I've grown up with people from every aspect of life and every background. I think the best thing about a football locker room—and kind of how I've grown up in baseball lockers— everything about that is people can come together and achieve something and achieve a common goal."
