Vice President Kamala Harris took a break from her debate prep to make another visit to the key battleground state of Pennsylvania on Saturday, resulting in a viral moment in a small business in Pittsburgh.
Raw video shows the Vice President in a Penzey's Spice Store embracing an obviously emotional woman who tries to explain why she's having such a reaction.
"We're gonna be good," VP Harris says. "We're gonna be fine."
The Vice President goes on to speak with several others, including a young girl, who have similarly strong reactions to meeting her.
Asked about the recent endorsements from lifelong Republicans Dick, Lynn, and Liz Cheney, the Vice President said, "I'm honored to have their endorsements. Leaders who are well-respected are making the statements that it's okay, if not important, to put country above party."
VP Harris also acknowledged that Americans are simply tired of the divisiveness in the country and called the Republicans' true bipartisan support "courageous."
"It really enforces that we love our country," the VP said, "and we have more in common than what separates us."
It's not just the joy that Kamala Harris and her running mate, Gov. Tim Walz, have brought to their campaign. It's also the basic humanity on display whenever they interact with people. Whether it's in a small business or on a giant stage, the Harris-Walz ticket is focused on what they plan to do for others, not themselves.
Conversely, Donald Trump was in Wisconsin on Saturday rambling about Hannibal Lecter yet again.
