Jimmy Kimmel had a hilarious question for Doug Emhoff when the Second Gentleman visited his late-night show on Thursday night.
Kamala Harris has emerged as a popular Presidential candidate, but she's not the only interesting member of her family. Step-daughter Ella Emhoff is a model and fashion designer, and step-son Cole produced a video about his father that was shown at this year's DNC. Her husband, Doug Emhoff, an entertainment lawyer, is considered to be both charming and an effective messenger.
Emhoff was a guest on Kimmel's show last night, and the host wanted to ask him a question about Donald Trump's recent comments. "What was your reaction when your wife turned Black? Were you surprised?" he asked.
"You know," Emhoff responded, "it’s so interesting. All that stuff, you know, it’s a distraction, though. We can joke about it, but it’s literally a distraction. All the insults, all the things coming at her, coming at me, coming at our family, is really just a distraction from what they are trying to do."
Trump said recently about the Vice President, "She was always of Indian heritage. And she was only promoting Indian heritage. I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago, when she happened to turn Black. And now she wants to be known as Black."
