WATCH: Jake Tapper Shouts Down Lying JD Vance During Contentious Interview

The corporate media is finally doing something that resembles accountability in the last ten days of the most insane election cycle in modern American political history.

As Donald Trump continues to go off the rails at his unhinged rallies--when he can be bothered to show up for them--his running mate JD "Vladimir Futon" Vance is attempting to do damage control and failing miserably.

On Sunday, CNN ran a pre-taped interview between "State of the Union" host Jake Tapper and Vance, who flat-out lied over and over while trying to shout down Tapper's constant fact-checking.

Vance refused to admit Trump called Americans who don't support him the "enemy from within" even after Tapper provided the receipts.

Vance also tried to shout Tapper down when he was asked why almost none of Trump's former Cabinet and staff, including his Vice President Mike Pence, weren't supporting him. "Whoever yells loudest, wins" is the MAGA default setting.

Vance dared to call Trump--an adjudicated rapist who's disparaged his opponent with racist and misogynist slurs and threatened the citizens of the cities he's in--the "candidate of peace."

"I think the record supports that," Vance lied while trying to rewrite Trump's track record, "but the reason these guys go after him, so vociferously, I don't think that it's about his personality, Jake. I think that it's about, they don't like that Donald Trump said no when a lot of them wanted to start a ridiculous war."

Former GOP Rep. Liz Cheney, who's now openly campaigning for Kamala Harris, appeared right after the Vance interview and helped rinse any sanewashing right off of it.
