WATCH: Harris Campaign Set Political Fundraising Record in August

What was that you were saying about joy not being a political strategy, doubters?

The Harris/Walz campaign set a one-month political fundraising record in August, raking in a whopping $361 million and boosting their war chest to $404 million as they head into September.

Reuters reported that 75% of the 1.3 million new donors to VP Harris in August didn't make any financial contributions in 2020. It said more than six in 10 donors in August were women, and nearly one in five were registered Republicans or independents.

And over 60% of those new donations came from women.

By comparison, the Trump/Vance campaign only raised $130 million during the same period, bringing the total in their coffers to $295 million. And that's after two years of Trump campaigning to stave off any legal consequences.

And we all know how that's going for him.

Vice President Kamala Harris and Gov. Tim Walz haven't just brought new energy to the political arena, they've also got an element of humanity to their campaign that's obviously resonating with the American people.

Their campaign has also seen a significant bump in the polls since last month's Democratic National Convention, where the nightly displays of joy inside Chicago's packed United Center.

Vice President Harris is leading Donald Trump by nearly five points in most national polls just days ahead of their scheduled debate on Tuesday.

The Vice President has also continued to amass endorsements from hundreds of Republicans, including former Congresswoman Liz Cheney and Jimmy McCain, son of the late Sen. John McCain.
