While the corporate media is focused on Tuesday's debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and convicted felon Donald Trump, the Harris/Walz campaign is already preparing to move forward with a "blitz" through key battleground states.
The campaign is launching a voter mobilization drive across Pennsylvania this weekend, with Election Day now just 60 days out and the first presidential debate in Philadelphia.
Vice President Harris will kick off the tour Thursday in North Carolina, while Gov. Tim Walz will return to Wisconsin. Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, and Walz’s wife, Gwen Walz will also visit the swing states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, Nevada, and Georgia.
They'll also make appearances in the safer Democratic states of Arizona, New Hampshire, and Maine, while also targeting Trump’s home state of Florida, which is now considered in play after polls show the Harris/Walz campaign gaining ground in the traditionally Red state.
“With early voting about to begin and less than 60 days until Election Day, our campaign will take the vice president’s message directly to the voters wherever they are – on the airwaves, on the doors, and online,” said Harris/Walz campaign Communications Director Michael Tyler in a press statement announcing the tour stops.
The campaign will host over 500 events in must-win Pennsylvania alone, including canvass launches, phone banks, trainings, and community events, with some national Democrats visiting the state to assist. The push will include a focus on Donald Trump's Project 2025.
More than 7,500 people have signed up to volunteer for weekend events, the campaign said, for its largest statewide organizing push of the election cycle so far.
