In a recent tweet, former Trump staffer Anthony Scaramucci declared that something is wrong with Donald Trump and that he has lost his fighting spirit.
Anyone who has watched Donald Trump on stage during his current campaign realizes that things are quite different. Age is a factor and he is clearly in cognitive decline, but he's a much different person than he was in 2020 and especially in 2016.
The last eight years have featured plenty of losses for the former President. He lost the election in 2020, but he has also cost the party other elections by promoting horrendous candidates, something he continues to do.
Trump recently suffered a big and embarrassing loss in his debate against Kamala Harris. After the event, Scaramucci told CNN, "It’s 100 percent that he’s gonna debate. I’ll make that prediction here. He’s a wrestler. You know, he’s like a UFC thing. He’s gonna say he’s not gonna debate. He knows he lost the debate."
But it doesn't appear that Trump will return to the debate stage against Harris. He posted on Truth Social, "THERE WILL BE NO THIRD DEBATE!”
A surprised Scaramucci took to his Twitter account to write:
"I have to confess that I got this wrong about Trump. I thought it was a ruse that he didn’t want to debate by President Harris, but it appears that he’s actually lost his fighting spirit. There is something wrong. Not exactly sure what it is."
