Along with Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Sen. Chris Murphy of Connecticut is one the few Democrats to regularly appear on Fox News.
While they're almost always treated like hostile witnesses, they maintain a cool head while dousing the hot garbage Fox doles out.
The current hot topics on Fox include several manufactured issues regarding the Southern border. No, Vice President Kamala Harris was not appointed the "Border Czar," and no, there's no such thing as "migrant crime," something John Oliver dug into on "Last Week Tonight" last week.
Sen. Murphy tweeted his reasons for going on Fox News Sunday, even if the truth he's telling will fall on willfully obtuse deaf ears thanks to repetitive lies from the Fox talking heads.
"I went on @FoxNewsSunday today to tell some hard truths, including these:
1. VP Harris was put in charge of stemming migration from 3 Central American countries. In 2 years, that migration dropped 50%.
2. Today daily border crossings are LOWER than at the end of Trump's term."
Democrats aren't to blame when it comes to the border. Trump continues to order his MAGA minions in Congress to vote against any bipartisan border bills because he needs to use the border as a campaign talking point. Without fear of an invasion of migrant crime taking Black jobs away from Hannibal Lecter, what else can he yell about at his unhinged rallies?
I often wonder what happens to the average Fox News viewer when they hear facts.
