WATCH: CNN's Kaitlan Collins Embarrasses Don Jr Over "Hitler" Comments After VP Debate

Everyone connected to Donald Trump hates to be reminded that his running mate, Ohio Senator JD Vance, once referred to him as "America's Hitler" and bragged "I'm a Never Trump guy."

Vance himself is one of them, deflecting the comments he scrubbed from his social media accounts by claiming he found religion and "came to see Trump in a new light."

Meanwhile, Vance has long-term ties to white supremacists, like right-wing tech billionaire Peter "PayPal" Thiel. These are things that made him an attractive VP as far as Donald Trump's oldest son and namesake Don Jr was concerned, and he was instrumental in convincing Trump Sr to choose Vance.

After Tuesday night's Vice Presidential debate, Vance worked the spin room, unusual for a candidate who thinks he's winning anything.

Don Jr lashed out at CNN's Kaitlan Collins, picking up his father's routine of blaming the media for the campaign's failures. “The media has radicalized the people that are trying to kill my father,” Junior whined to Collins, referring to the two recent attempts on his father’s life at a Butler, Pennsylvania, rally in July and then at Trump’s West Palm Beach golf resort last month.

“No one wants the threats against his life to happen,” Collins replied. “You can’t blame the media for those threats, there’s been no evidence that that’s what drove those.”

Jr then leaned into his family's usual projection language, whining that “When someone calls – and allows people to have a platform to call someone literally Hitler every day for nine years, it creates it, whether you want to believe it or not.”

Collins quickly pointed out that Vance had also been one of those people calling his father Hitler.
