Taylor Swift's Instagram post endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris and Gov. Tim Walz immediately after Tuesday night's presidential debate has already resulted in nearly 10 million likes.
But even more importantly, Taylor's encouragement to her more than 283 million IG followers alone has seen the biggest surge in new voter registration in recent political history.
In her Instagram post, Swift said she would be voting for VP Harris because she “fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.”
“I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos,” Taylor wrote.
Swift also said her endorsement was partially prompted by Donald Trump’s decision to post AI-generated pictures suggesting she had endorsed him. Trump’s posts “brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter,” Swift wrote.
By signing her endorsement "Childless Cat Lady," she threw shade directly at Trump's historically unpopular running mate JD "What's a Donut?" Vance, who has repeatedly criticized the judgment of politicians from women who don't have children.
Taylor's linked information in her Instagram Story directly drove about 338,000 visits in 15 hours to the federal voter registration Vote.gov website.
Jealous Trump voters are trying to make it seem like Taylor's endorsement--in which she only encourages people to do their own research as well as register to vote--but like Trump at the debate, they're flailing.
Taylor also used her appearance at the MTV VMAs on Wednesday night to remind everyone watching to register to vote.
