Tim Walz Blasts Republicans Over Attempts to Ban LGBTQ Friendly Books

Tim Walz blasted Republicans who are attempting to ban LGBTQ books in school while delivering the keynote speech at the Human Rights Campaign's National Dinner this weekend.

Rather than just ignoring it, the Republican party has long tried to ban any kind of media that they consider offensive, Those attempts seem to have escalated during Donald Trump's time in power with Ron DeSantis  setting a model for the movement down in Florida.

Tim Walz has become an attack dog for Kamala Harris going after all of her political opponents. He's quite effective as it too, giving his Mid-Western spin on the strangeness of today's GOP.

He took aim at those attempting to ban books during his speech on Saturday, telling the assembled, "[In Minnesota], we banned banning books, especially banning LGBTQ books. This is what these folks are focusing on, spending all their time. Like reading about two male penguins who love each other is somehow going to turn your children gay, and that's what you should worry about."

Walz then took aim at J.D. Vance by saying, "But here's what I'll tell you, it's a fact of life: Some people are gay. But you know what's not a fact of life? That our children need to be be shot dead in schools. That's not a fact of life. Folks are banning books, but they're okay with weapons of war being in our schools."
