Robert F. Kennedy Jr. might have been an important surrogate during Donald Trump's successful presidential bid, but those close to the president-elect don't think he'll be able to join the cabinet.

RFK Jr. began his 2024 bid as a Democrat, became an Independent, and finished campaigning with Donald Trump. In exchange for his support, it was expected that the conspiracy theorist would be given an important post within Trump's administration.
Kennedy Jr., however, has some skeletons in his closet. Just in the last year, he has been accused of having an affair with Olivia Nuzzi, admitted that he dumped a dead bear cub in Central Park and was accused of cutting the head off of a whale.
While Kennedy Jr. would love to be able to influence medical policy in the country, that may not happen. According to several reporters from CNN:
Inside Trump’s camp, questions have been raised about whether Kennedy could get confirmed or obtain a security clearance necessary for a Cabinet-level position. And even if he could, they doubt Kennedy would want to go through those processes."
A Trump confident felt that Kennedy Jr. wouldn't want his past looking into, telling reporters, "if you dump a bear in Central Park and think you’re above the law, you don’t want to have to go through that gauntlet of political correctness."
