The View's Navarro: George Clooney Needs to Write Democrats a Big Check

During Monday's broadcast of The View, the hosts discussed Joe Biden's decision to drop out, with Ana Navarro calling out George Clooney.

Multiple Democratic lawmakers called on Joe Biden to leave the race after last month's debate performance. So did George Clooney, the A-list actor who is also an important fundraiser for the party. Shortly before calling for Biden to drop out of the race, the actor held a fundraiser for the President.

During a segment concerning the President's decision to drop out, Ana Navarro weighed in, "I was also mad because he’s been dragged relentlessly for three weeks by some people who were supposedly his friend. I hope those donors who said things about him come back with big checks now. George Clooney."

Whoopi Goldberg was also critical of the way Democrats handled the exit, saying, "I would’ve preferred my Democrats to not do this publicly and in everybody’s face. What it did was it had us sitting having to talk about this endlessly…I know the American people, regardless of who the nominee will be, it’s going to be up to the people."

Sara Haines defended those who had called on the President to drop out of the race, saying, "There is room for criticism when you’re talking about the biggest job in the world. Those people that are friends, even George Clooney… a lot of those people were torn themselves. I commend the people that took that risk and said we need to do this. That began some very hard conversations."
