Republicans Have Already Called Secret Service Head to Testify in Front of Congress

Following yesterday's shooting in Pennsylvania House Republicans immediately moved to call Secret Service Chief Kimberly Cheatle in to testify.

After some of the shock cleared from the shooting at the Trump Rally yesterday, the big question became, 'how did this happen?' The Secret Service will certainly have to answer that question in the coming weeks.

James Comer, the Head of the House Oversight Committee, moved to weaponize the incident in a tweet that read:

"I have already contacted the Secret Service for a briefing and am also calling on Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle to appear for a hearing. The Oversight Committee will send a formal invitation soon.

My prayers are with President Trump and the victims of the assassination attempt at today’s rally in Pennsylvania. I thank the brave Secret Service members who put their lives at risk to protect President Trump and for the American patriots in the audience who helped others who were hurt. Political violence in all forms is unamerican and unacceptable. There are many questions and Americans demand answers."

Soon after, the House Oversight Committee tweeted out a letter from Comer calling on Cheatle to testify before the House on July 22nd in what is sure to be an incredibly contentious hearing.
