Controversial Republican gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson defended himself from a new CNN report and said that he won't be leaving the race.
Mark Robinson is pretty inflammatory in public. The GOP candidate has said things like some people need killing and told women who seek abortions that they should leave their legs closed.
According to the CNN report, Robinson has a history of going on porn message boards and writing outrageous. In addition to calling himself a black Nazi, Robinson reportedly also called for a reinstatement of slavery and talked about enjoying transgender porn.
The Republican is facing calls to drop out of the race, but was defiant in a video he posted on social media. In the video, Robinson said, "The news media is at it again. My opponent is at it again."
Robinson continued:
"We are staying in this race. We are in it to win it. And we know that with your help, we will. Let me reassure you the things that you will see in that story — those are not the words of Mark Robinson. You know my words. You know my character."
North Carolina then went so far as to compare his situation to Clarence Thomas's Supreme Court confirmation hearing, saying, "Folks, we've seen this type of stuff in the past as well."
