Kinzinger, Axelrod Both Say J.D. Vance Should be Disqualified from VP Spot

J.D. Vance blamed Joe Biden after the shooting at Donald Trump's Saturday rally and that should disqualify him from serving as Trump's running mate.

Vance was once a fierce criticism of Trump, but that has changed. The Ohio senator is now willing to do anything he can to impress Trump which has landed him on the VP short list.

Following yesterday's shooting, Vance wrote on social media, "Today is not just some isolated incident. The central premise of the Biden campaign is that President Donald Trump is an authoritarian fascist who must be stopped at all costs. That rhetoric led directly to President Trump's attempted assassination."

Kinzinger was simple in his condemnation of the message, writing, "This should absolutely disqualify J.D. Vance for VP."

Axelrod, who served as a chief strategist to Barack Obama, not only called for Vance to be disqualified, he also explained how the senator was wrong, writing:

"If @JDVance1 is on the short list for VP, this Tweet, sent an hour after the assassination attempt in PA, ought to disqualify him in the eyes of the Trump campaign. Wrong vibe in that moment. And as we now are learning, the gunman's profile doesn't seem to match Vance's premise. But at least wait and see! Trump probably doesn't want a shoot-from-the-hip VP."
