After a man with a gun got onto one of Donald Trump's golf courses, Republican candidate Kari Lake claimed, without evidence, that the man was radicalized into hating Donald Trump by the media.
Republican media moved quickly yesterday to paint the man who had gotten onto the course as a Democrat. The truth, though, is unclear. Routh posted on social media that he had voted for Trump in 2016. He also showed support for candidates like Vivek Ramaswamny and Nikki Haley.
Appearing on Newsmax, Kari Lake didn't share any of that information. Instead, she told Newsmax host Todd Starnes:
"Thankfully they captured this man alive. I’m curious to hear more about what he’s all about. But it looks like he’s been very much a Trump Derangement Syndrome patient for a long time. You know, from what we know based on what we’re seeing on this guy’s social media, he was a registered Democrat and donor, anti-Israel, pro-Hamas, Hezbollah terrorist, heavily invested in getting Americans to go overseas to fight in Ukraine."
Lake then attacked the media, saying, "We’ve heard that quite a bit before. This guy actually fell hook line and sinker for every piece of anti-MAGA propaganda the media and the left have been spewing for years now. He wanted to kill President Trump, and we’ve got to stop this. I’m just calling on the media to stop what you’re doing. We are all Americans."
