During a recent conversation with MSNBC's Joe Scarborough, Jimmy Kimmel gave an interesting answer when asked about being accused of having Trump derangement syndrome.

Those in MAGA world have been using the term Trump derangement syndrome for years. It is their way of beating back any criticism of their leader, and they use it to claim that their guy is beyond criticism.
Popular late-night host Jimmy Kimmel has been one of Trump's most ardent critics for years and has regularly been accused of TDS. He told Scarborough:
"I laugh when people say, ‘Oh, you’ve got Trump derangement syndrome.’ If you’re a reasonable person, you should have Trump derangement syndrome. I think he has derangement syndrome about us, too."
Kimmel continued by noting, "The fact of the matter is, this is a dangerous person. This is a stupid person. And that’s a bad combination." The comic then brought up the fact that if Trump is able to get back in the White House, he would likely avoid prison time for his New York case and others that have yet to be decided.
Scarborough responded to that talking point by saying, "I keep forgetting it and I have to keep reminding myself — is he’s not just running for president, he’s running to stay out of prison. And that’s a pretty powerful thing."
