Jen Psaki Wonders Why Trump Isn't Being Blamed for Roe vs. Wade Being Overturned

The Supreme Court overturning Roe vs. Wade has had a negative effect on Republican candidates so far. Democrats have been winning big since the decision and the abortion issue will be key for them during this year's elections.

Voters are blaming Republicans for their strike against the rights of women but are not necessarily blaming Donald Trump, who placed the justices who reversed the decision on the bench. Jen Psaki pointed to a recent poll that showed 48% of voters didn't blame Trump.

Psaki discussed the poll with the head of Emily's List, Jennifer Macker. The MSNBC host began, "In a recent CBS poll, only 33 percent blame Trump for Roe being overturned. But nearly half of voters polled say they neither give him credit nor blame him for overturning Roe. What — that is such a key issue. What do you do about that? Do you believe those numbers? And what do you do about that?"

Mackler would say later during the discussion:

I think the most important thing is that we have to put this in front of voters. Donald Trump has said on camera that he has — he has taken responsibility for overturning Roe v. Wade. He has said that he will adopt a national abortion ban. And so it’s on EMILY’s List to make sure that we’re putting that in front of voters every single day between now and Election Day, showing them the tape and making sure that we’re consistently delivering this message."
