Conservative pundit and long-time friend of Donald Trump, Geraldo Rivera announced on Monday that he is backing Kamala Harris for President.
Both Rivera and Trump are from New York City and have known each other for decades. Geraldo was a host on Fox's The Five during Trump's presidency and as often tasked with defending his friend.
But Rivera grew increasingly agitated with Trump especially when Trump refused to accept the results of the 2020 election. And that has bothered him enough that he is now backing a Democrat.
The pundit made the announcement via an X post and the most stinging part of Rivera's long message was where he wrote:
"If you are a Republican, Donald Trump has made a liar of you," wrote Rivera. "He has coaxed and intimidated tens of millions into pretending he was reelected in 2020, and that the election was stolen. In furtherance of that Big Lie, on January 6, 2021, Trump incited and unleashed the violent attack on the center of democracy, the U.S. Capitol for which he was Impeached. As his followers trashed that sacred space, he was on the phone urging Vice President Mike Pence essentially to overturn the will of the American people. Pence refused to put Trump ahead of the Constitution. Trump stabbed the Constitution in the back."
After noting that Donald Trump could not be counted on to honor the constitution, Rivera revealed, "That is why I am voting for Kamala Harris to be our 47th President."
