Commenting on the controversy surrounding Donald Trump's rally in Madison Square Garden on Sunday, a Democratic strategist painted it as a huge gift to Democrats.

In order to win the election, Donald Trump is going to need the votes of more than straight white men who didn't go to college. Rather than trying to win those votes, Trump and the people around him have focused on antagonizing those people.
Comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, a roast comic, was one of the speakers at yesterday's rally in New York and he made massive waves when he called Puerto Rico a country of garbage. According to Maria Cardona, that was a gift to Democrats.
Cardona told CNN, "I think what it does is it allows Americans to see the stark contrast that is exactly what Vice President Kamala Harris has been talking about these last couple of weeks and what she is going to close on."
The strategist continued:
"So I have to thank Donald Trump and all of the misogynistic, racist, xenophobic, white supremacist speakers that he had at his rally because they are underscoring that Vice President Kamala Harris is going to be focused on the future, is going to be focused on solutions, is going to be focused on her to do list for Americans while Donald Trump, if he gets to the Oval Office, he's going to be focused on retribution."
