Bret Baier Admits That He Played the Wrong Clip During Harris Interview

During his Fox show on Thursday night, Bret Baier admitted that he played the wrong Donald Trump interview clip during his Wednesday interview with Kamala Harris.

Baier, long thought to be one of the more respectable personalities on Fox, was tasked with conducting an interview with the Democratic candidate. And the worst moment may have come when he talked about Harris' criticism of Trump for calling political opponents the enemy within. Fox then proceeded to play a clip other than the one where Trump made the comments.

Baier, raked over the coals today, attempted to make good during his show. He told his audience:

"And I did want to say that I did make a mistake. When I called for a soundbite, I was expecting a piece of the ‘enemy from within’ from Maria Bartiromo’s interview to be tied to the piece from your town hall, Harris, where you asked the former president about ‘the enemy from within.’ It just had the piece about the town hall. Just take a listen to what I meant to roll."

A clip then played of Trump saying, "I think the bigger problem is the enemy from within. Not even the people that have come in and [are] destroying our country. We have some sick people, radical left lunatics. And I think they are– and it should be very easily handled by, if necessary, by National Guard, or if really necessary, by the military."

Baier continued, "My point was that we asked him about the question about that sentence and what he was trying to mean."
