Check out eight more fascinating facts about the Detroit-based rapper and musician that you definitely (probably) did not know below. You might be surprised by what you find out!

Number Eight: He Was Surprised by Lil Wayne’s “Deep” Shout Out. Sean greatly appreciated Lil Wayne’s shout out to him, especially because he is not signed to Lil Wayne. He said that he was grateful that a rapper that big would promote him without being paid to do it.

Number Seven: He Blew His Tuition Money on Studio Time. Sean’s grandmother spent a lot of her life saving a college fund for Sean. However, he ended up using the bulk of the money to spend time in the studio.

Number Six: He Is Into Kendrick Lamar. Specifically, Sean has said that he appreciated To Pimp A Butterfly for its unique quality. He says that he likes when performers bring their own “flavor” to the industry.

Number Five: He Watches Dragon Ball ZAnd he likes Pokemon, too! Sean tweeted that he was watching the latest Dragon Ball Z movie while listening to his new album. He has also tweeted about getting the new Pokemon game.

Number Four: He Was a Telemarketer. Before he hit it big, Sean was a telemarketer. He said that he was only making $100 every week, and he thought the job was “weak.”

Number Three: He Appreciates Realness. Sean told The Breakfast Club in an interview that he doesn’t believe there are a lot of real people in the industry. However, Sean tries his best to stay real.

Number Two: He Was Principal for a Day. Sean was the principal of Bates Academy in Detroit for a day. He collaborated with a project called Get Schooled to encourage kids to pursue their dreams and get educated.

Number One: He Is Grounded. Above all, Sean is able to step back and see his life for what it is. He said, “This last year has been a big turning point for me just as a person, for my career too…To take it to the next level, you gotta get your mind right. You gotta go on your instincts, go with your gut. I’m not afraid to just be.”
