We already brought you part one of our list of 15 things you probably did not know about Beyonce, and now we’re back with part two! Check out eight more fascinating facts about the singer and musician that you definitely (probably) did not know below. You might be surprised by what you find out!

Number Eight: Her Vocal Range Spans 3.6 Octaves. Beyonce’s vocal range can be described as mezzo-soprano, and her range spans 3.6 octaves.

Number Seven: She Is Greatly Influenced by Michael Jackson. Beyonce’s very first concert was a Michael Jackson concert, and that concert is what made her realize she wants to be a performer. She has even said, “If it wasn’t for Michael Jackson, I would never ever have performed.”

Number Six: She Was Part of a Sports Illustrated First. Beyonce was the very first person who was not a supermodel or athlete to be featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated‘s Swimsuit Issue. She appeared on the cover in 2007.

Number Five: Jay-Z Almost Wasn’t a Part of “Crazy in Love.” In 2011, Beyonce admitted that the addition of Jay-Z to the song was very last-minute. She said, “I asked Jay to get on the song the night before I had to turn my album in – thank God he did. It still never gets old, no matter how many times I sing it.”

Number Four: She Created “Sasha Fierce” as a Way to Separate Her Identities. Beyonce has a very strong stage presence. To separate the way she acts on stage from the way she behaves in real life, Beyonce created Sasha Fierce. She has said that she probably would not like Sasha Fierce if she met her off the stage.

Number Three: She Struggled With Depression. After Destiny’s Child broke up in 2006, Beyonce admitted that she suffered from depression. She attributed the depression to her big life change.

Number Two: She Was Married for Six Months Before She Publicly Confirmed It. Beyonce and Jay-Z got married in April of 2008. However, Queen Bey didn’t actually confirm her marriage until October of that year.

Number One: She Has a Writing Award. Beyonce won a writing award from the New York Association of Black Journalists. She earned the award for a piece she wrote for Essence magazine.
