Wooden Melania Trump Statue Unveiled in Her Slovenian Hometown
While Donald Trump is a loud presence who typically dominates the news cycle, his wife is something different. First Lady Melania Trump is quiet by nature, but also objectively beautiful. She came to the United States to continue her career as a fashion model before she married the now President.
Melania hails from the relatively small Slovenian town of Novo Mesto and naturally the hometown is proud of their native daughter. In that vein. Novo Mesto has unveiled a wood carved statue of the current First Lady of the United States.
The statue has been criticized by some residents who feel that is does not adequately represent the First Lady. Artist Brad Downey attempted to explain, “I can understand why people might think that this falls short as a description of her physical appearance.”

The statue is meant to represent the outfit Melania Trump wore during the President’s 2017 inauguration. Critics of the statue feel that it might be more of a mockery of the First Lady than a celebration.
One unnamed resident said of the piece, “if the monument was meant to be a parody, then the artist has been successful.”
Another critic exclaimed, “We in Sevnica can only laugh and, at the same time, hold our heads in our hands over their [the Trumps’] catastrophic reputation.”
Melania Trump has spent much of her time working on her anti-bullying campaign, Be Best. The initiative, which has been called out for its ironic nature, recently named a number of new ambassadors.
