Donald Trump used to hold daily press briefings on the COVID-19 pandemic. While the President bragged about the ratings for the events, they were low on actual information. After Trump suggested that patients could be treated with bleach, the briefings came to an end.
The most well received part of the daily pressers was the information given by Doctor’s Deborah Birx and Anthony Fauci. Americans have seen little of the two Doctors over the last month. When asked about their recent disappearance on Fox News today, Kayeigh McEnany didn’t have a great answer.
The Press Secretary was pressed on the manner by Fox News host Bill Hemmer. He asked McEnany, “Will we see Drs. Birx and Fauci anytime soon? Because they seem to have disappeared.”
McEnany replied, “Dr. Birx and Fauci are hard at work. I’m in task force with them. I’m constantly gathering information from them. But we’re moving forward on a number of issues including policing and we’re also keeping in mind COVID as we safely reopen the country.”
Hemmer also took the opportunity to ask the White House spokesperson about the decision to move the RNC to Jacksonville. When asked if it was safe to do so, the Press Secretary said, “We’re convinced it will be a safe convention. We will ensure that all those who attend will be safe.”
