Twitter has been very good to Donald Trump. The President was one of the earliest advocates of the website and he used it more than any other politician.
Trump had a massive following of over 80 million followers. He used the medium to quickly communicate with all of them.
For years, Twitter was criticized for allowing Trump to regularly flout their rules and regulations. In 2020, the website took the step of flagging tweets from the President that were clearly chock full of misinformation.
But those days are over. The website has now permanently suspended Trump from using their service. The news was broken by Shams Charania. Charania is known to NBA fans as one of the most connected reporters in the league.
The reporter tweeted, “To cap off this week: Twitter has permanently suspended President Donald Trump.”

This caps off one of the worst weeks Trump could have been imagined. He officially conceded the election to Joe Biden. He has lost the support of most Republican lawmakers after triggering an insurrection in Washington. And now he loses access to millions of followers.
The website tweeted, “After close review of recent Tweets from the Donald Trump account and the context around them we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence.”
