West Hollywood Passes Resolution to Remove Trump’s Walk of Fame Star
Yesterday we reported that the West Hollywood, California city council would be voting to remove the Walk of Fame star for President Donald Trump, citing his “disturbing treatment of women and other actions that do not meet the shared values of the City of West Hollywood, the region, state, and country.”
Included in their list of ‘actions’ were anything from Trump’s child separation policies and his climate change denial to his plan to use funds from the Ryan White HIV/AIDS program to cover the costs of his zero tolerance border policy.
Last night, the city council met, and the decision was unanimous.
“West Hollywood City council unanimously passes resolution asking the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to remove the Donald Trump star on Hollywood Walk of Fame,” announced Mayor John Duran on Twitter.
The star, which was placed within the famous Walk of Fame in 2007 for Trump’s role in Apprentice, has already been destroyed twice by vandals, most recently last month.
Twitter critics of Mr.Trump used the occasion to post a few replacement stars themselves, now that it appears that there is a very good chance Trump’s star will be removed:
